Training


As a part of the project all participating institutions organized training for their students and teachers. Number of trained students and teachers in the middle of January was 100, with a tendency this number to be increased several times. By now number of trained students and teachers go up to the 360. Training was focused on on-line collaborative project work, going from basic skills training up to net-ethics training. It is logical that not all organizations have realized training in a similar way, but in general course outlines can be classified as follows:

A. Basic Computer Skills

-         Learning to work with the computer/ switching on and off/using disks

-         Working with Windows /mouse/keyboard/starting programs

-         Basic typing skills and using text processor Word

-         Basic image editing skills

Target group: Newly involved students and teachers, and/or without any computer knowledge.

 

B. Title: Basic Internet Skills

-         Learning to work on the Internet/using browsers/searching for data/visiting web sites

-         Working with e-mails/opening account/checking for mail/sending messages/attaches

-         Visiting web forums/reading posted messages/sending new messages

Target group: Students and teachers who want to be involved in project work.

 

C. Title: Project Work

-         Introducing to the projects / types of projects/ types of project work

-         Presentation of past project work

-         Visiting web sites of realized projects

-         Planning future project work

Target group: Beginning students and teachers.

D. Title: Web Building

-         Introducing to the web development

-         How to hyperlink

-         Design of pages

-         Advanced image editing

-         Web pages with frames

-         Tagging

-         Animations

Target group: Advanced students and teachers.

E. Title: HTML Programming

-         What is HTML programming

-         Java

-         Scripting

-         What is CGI

-         E-commerce programming

Target group: Advanced students.

·        Agricultural School “Kiro Burnaz” Kumanovo, Macedonia

·        High School “Braka Miladinovci” Skopje, Macedonia

·        Building and Construction School “Zdravko Cvetkovski” Skopje, Macedonia

·        Medical School “Dr. Pance Karadjozov” Skopje, Macedonia

·        Technical School “Vlado Tasevski” Skopje, Macedonia

·        High School “8-mi septemvri” Skopje, Macedonia

·        Primary School “Kuzman Josifovski-Pitu” Skopje, Macedonia

·        Primary School “Kliment Ohridski” Skopje, Macedonia

·        Primary School “Rajko Zinzifov” Skopje, Macedonia

It is important to mention that youth have been in the role of trainers many times in many session of this project. This also speaks for itself about the level of empowerment of young people participating in this project.

For training purposes iEARN Macedonia, and Hurry T. Fultz organized usage of facilities in organizations or schools free of charge, which was very big relief of the project budget, having in mind number of trained, or to be trained trainees.
